THE MIDLAND NATURALISTS

Welcome to The Midland Naturalists Website

The Midnats is a natural history organization in Midland, Texas, dedicated to the study and preservation of the environment and all of its living organisms. We live on the Llano Estacado at the northern boundary of the Chihuahuan Desert and the southern boundary of the Great Plains. Our members have knowledge of and personal field experience with the plants, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and other animals in West Texas. Among our members are world-class birders, butterfly counters, and native plant master gardeners who want to teach new members how to identify these wonderful plants and animals by sight.

Come and join us as we explore the rich biologic diversity
and hidden treasures of the West Texas we call home!
